Have you used our Child Welfare Timeline?

First posted in 2016, the Timeline responded to feedback from people who spent time in care who wanted an easier way to find key dates, and a more image-based approach.

The current overhaul of the site’s design includes many ways of making browsing easier, including integrated images, a more comprehensive search feature, and more accessible text. The Timeline remains an important tool, and in the meantime has had its own update in readiness to be moved to the updated site.

The Timeline now includes more recent inquiries, and Redress and Reparations schemes, including the National Redress Scheme the Victorian Inquiry into Responses to Historical Forced Adoptions and the National Apology to Victims and Survivors of Institutional Child Sexual Abuse.
